David Bowie's ex-wife is still inside the Celebrity Big Brother house and has yet not been informed of his death, Channel 5 has said.
Angie Bowie has made tabloid headlines during her time on the programme with a series of damning comments about the singer, who died on Sunday aged 69.
There was some concern among viewers online at the suggestion Ms Bowie might be told about her ex-husband's death live on TV.
But in a statement, Channel 5 confirmed she would be told off camera later on Monday.
A spokesman told The Independent: "Following the very sad news of David Bowie's death this morning, we can confirm that Angie Bowie will be informed off camera today at the earliest opportunity.
"We will update further once this has taken place," he added.
Ms Bowie, a 66-year-old former model, was married to the musician for a decade until she divorced him in 1980.
Their son Zowie, who changed his name to Duncan, is estranged from his mother but tweeted of his sadness as he confirmed David's death on Monday morning.
