David Bowie: Fans create ice memorial across frozen pond for Let's Dance star

Tributes to the late, great David Bowie have been cropping up in some of his favourite haunts across the world.

In Berlin, the city the iconic singer famously adopted as his second home, flowers lie outside the clubs and bars he was known to frequent, with bouquets piling up outside the home he famously lived in with Iggy Pop for months.

Bowie died 18 months after he was diagnosed with cancer. The 69-year-old told only a handful of people about his diagnosis and continued to work throughout his illness on his final album and “parting gift”, Blackstar

Now, fans have marked his passing by etching a star and "Let’s Dance" into ice across a pond in Rudolf-Wilde-Park, in the Schöneberg district where Bowie and Iggy Pop shared their apartment.

Celebrations of Bowie’s eventful life have included a street party in Brixton, his place of birth, and the announcement that Labyrinth will return to British cinemas once again. Plans for a memorial concert are also underway.
