David Beckham Will Reportedly 'Take Back' Son Brooklyn in a Minute But Only Without Nicola

David Beckham would reportedly welcome his son Brooklyn back into the family 'in a minute', but insiders say reconciliation remains deeply complicated by ongoing tensions involving Brooklyn's wife, Nicola Peltz. According to a report by People, the long-simmering rift between David and Victoria Beckham and their eldest son has escalated into a highly public and emotionally charged dispute, following Brooklyn's decision to air his grievances on social media earlier this month. What began as private disagreements surrounding Brooklyn and Nicola's wedding in 2022 has since evolved into a wider breakdown in communication, with sources claiming the two sides now speak only through lawyers.

David and Victoria 'Afraid of Losing' Brooklyn

Sources told People that David and Victoria were 'stunned and saddened' by Brooklyn's recent Instagram posts, in which he accused his parents of emotional control and interference in his marriage. 'They are staying quiet because they don't want to draw more attention to it,' one source said, explaining the couple's decision not to respond publicly.

Despite the pain caused by the allegations, insiders insist the Beckhams remain desperate to repair their relationship with Brooklyn. 'David and Victoria love Brooklyn and are afraid of losing their son,' another source said. 'They would take him back in a minute.'

However, that willingness reportedly comes with a significant caveat. Multiple sources claimed reconciliation would not extend to Nicola. 'The Beckhams have no intention of reconciling with their son unless Nicola is out of the picture,' a source familiar with the situation said.

That condition is said to be unacceptable to Brooklyn. 'But that's not an ultimatum he's going to cave on,' another insider explained. 'Brooklyn has felt more support from his wife in these past three years than from his parents in his entire life,'

Brooklyn's Public Accusations

Brooklyn broke his silence on Jan. 19, posting a lengthy Instagram statement in which he accused his parents of years of control and emotional harm. 'I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,' he wrote. 'I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.'

He also rejected claims that Nicola was influencing him, calling the suggestion 'completely backward.' Addressing the possibility of reconciliation, Brooklyn added: 'I do not want to reconcile with my family... I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose and have found peace.' A source close to Brooklyn told People that the couple believe David and Victoria are behind negative media coverage they have faced for years. 'They are so beaten down,' the source said.

Wedding Fallout and Mutual Resentment

Insiders say tensions between Victoria and Nicola intensified during preparations for the couple's 2022 wedding. A Peltz family source claimed Victoria withdrew from designing Nicola's wedding dress late in the process, while a Beckham insider disputed that account.

Commenting on the broader dynamic, a Peltz family source alleged: 'Victoria and Nicola got along in the first few months, but then Victoria started acting like a jealous girlfriend.' That claim was countered by a Beckham insider, who said: 'Nicola is the one who is jealous of Victoria. She wants to be famous.'

The now infamous wedding dance also remains a source of bitterness. DJ Fat Tony later described the moment as 'really awkward,' recalling how Marc Anthony invited 'the most beautifulest woman in the room' to the stage before calling Victoria Beckham's name, leaving Brooklyn 'devastated'.

Despite the current impasse, sources close to David and Victoria believe time may soften the divide. 'David and Victoria believe time will heal this,' one insider said. 'David and Victoria believe that over time Brooklyn will come back. But they can't do anything until then.'

Psychotherapist Jonathan Alpert, as cited by People, noted that children of famous parents often struggle with identity and anxiety. 'They lack psychological privacy growing up,' he said. 'Normal mistakes, identity exploration and growing pains happen under observation.

That pressure can lead to a constant fear of disappointing others. Being compared to extraordinarily successful parents can make it difficult to build confidence or a sense of independence.'
