Sir David Beckham has said he feels “very lucky” after being spoiled by his family on his 51st birthday.

The former England captain celebrated his birthday on Saturday and was showered with love from friends and family who shared photos and heartfelt messages on Instagram.

At the end of the day, he shared two photographs of himself on his Instagram account, the first of him as a young boy, blowing out candles on his birthday cake, followed by a photograph of him and his birthday cake from this weekend.

He said: “I feel very lucky & blessed to have had a very special day today being spoilt by my wife, kids, family and friends from the moment I opened my eyes till now and I just want to say thank you and I love you all so much @victoriabeckham & my beautiful family thank you.”

Fashion designer and Spice Girl Victoria Beckham was one of the first to mark his big day with a post online along with separate posts from their children: Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

Their eldest son, however, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, remained silent online amid an ongoing family feud.

It comes after he shared an explosive statement earlier this year saying he did not want to “reconcile” with his family and accusing Sir David and Lady Beckham of prioritising “Brand Beckham” over all else and controlling narratives in the press.

Posh Spice shared a carousel of photographs of Sir David on Instagram and said: “You are our world, our everything.

“We love you so much!!! Happy birthday to the best husband, daddy, son, brother, and friend.

“To the kindest most generous soul. We will spoil you all day!!!! Nobody deserves it more than you.”

Lady Beckham also posted a video of Sir David carrying two boxes containing chickens which she said were birthday gifts “from the boys”.

Their son, Romeo, posted on his story a photograph of the two together with the caption “Happy birthday dad love you so much thank u for everything you do” followed by another post of the pair together which said “my best mate”.

Cruz also posted a story to mark their dad’s 51st birthday, with Harper sharing a heartfelt tribute which said: “Happy birthday to the best daddy in the whole world. I honestly could never ask for a better role model too.

“You are always here for me and I will always be here for you too anything anywhere. Have the best day ever, you deserve everything.”
