David Beckham's nephew living an 'ordinary life on Dagenham council estate'

David and Victoria Beckham are purported to be worth a whopping £360 million each, but for the ex-footballer's teenage nephew, life could scarcely be more different.

David, 47, and Victoria, 48, acquired their enormous wealth from David's football career and Victoria's role in the Spice Girls, as well as her fashion designs.

However, despite the huge bank balance of one arm of the family, members of the Beckham's extended family have not been quite so fortunate as their cousins.

In July 2018, the Daily Record 's sister site the Irish Mirror ran an interview with Freddie Every, the 17-year-old nephew of David Beckham.

At the time, Freddie was struggling to get by and living with his father in awful temporary housing.

Freddie told of his sadness at becoming estranged from his wealthy uncle and his relatives, even though he had grown up going round to Posh and Becks' home to play with his cousins.

In the exclusive interview, Freddie said that everything changed when the 11-year marriage between his father Colin, 50, and his mum, David's elder sister Lynne, ended.

At the time of the interview, Freddie was unemployed and taking a bricklaying course in an attempt to make ends meet, all while watching cousin Brooklyn living the life of Riley.

Freddie's mother and younger brother Josh, aged 13, were living in a £470,000 house which Freddie's dad claims was purchased for them by David.

Meanwhile, Freddie and his dad were living on benefits in a one-bedroom flat on a council estate in East London while Freddie tried to get back in touch with his extended family.

He said at the time: "I'm filled with mixed emotions. I just want to be able to go for a meal and talk and catch up. I'm not asking for more than that. Growing up we saw them loads and I have so many happy memories of playing at their house, doing Easter egg hunts and playing on quad bikes.

"Then suddenly it all stopped and I am on the outside looking in, only seeing them live their lives on Instagram or on the TV. We have so much in common still. I love football and am into fashion too – but I never get to share that with them. I watched a documentary David did for TV three times to see if he mentioned me at all. But he didn't, and that was hard."

Freddie revealed that his prized possession was a pair of £200 Yeezy trainers which David once sent him as a late Christmas present.

While Freddie's cousin Brooklyn, who is himself a millionaire, swanned around London's West End in a £35,000 Land Rover, Freddie had to get around the East End on a broken down mountain bike as he couldn't afford driving lessons.

Freddie got his first job at a noodle stand in Romford, and took home around £50 a week. He admitted that it was difficult seeing the cousins he knew including Romeo, 19, and Cruz, 17, showing off their wealthy lifestyles on social media while he and his father had to live on £75 a week.

The pair had to constantly scour supermarket bargain bins to find enough reduced items to put food on the table in their Dagenham flat.

He said: "I think about the difference in our lives sometimes, but it's hard to explain. Their lives are hard to imagine. I don't really like seeing it but it is what it is at the end of the day. They are still my family and I'd like to see them again."

Freddie's father Colin and mum Lynne Beckham had three children, and after the separation an informal agreement saw Colin agree to raise Freddie and his sister Georgia, 20, while Lynne took Josh.

But Colin and Lynne's relationship was reportedly poor. Freddie hardly ever saw his mum and younger brother, who themselves are close to David and Victoria, with Josh said to enjoy days out in his uncle's private box at Wembley.

Freddie, who said he dreams of meeting up with his cousins to watch a football match or go out for a meal like the old days, described how one of his fondest memories is playing in the garden with David and Cruz at Grade II-listed Rowneybury House in Hertfordshire, which he affectionately calls Beckingham Palace.

He also cheerfully remembered David buying him Happy Meals from McDonald’s when he was a tot. Despite the family split, Freddie said he didn't begrudge his rich relatives their success. "At the end of the day I am proud of my uncle," he said, admitting he no longer told anyone about his superstar cousins, because they would never believe him. "I don't know how I'd explain it."

Last month Brooklyn, who is Posh and Becks' eldest son, married Nicola Peltz, who is an actor and daughter of billionaire American businessman Nelson Peltz in a lavish ceremony at Palm Beach in Florida.

David reportedly gifted the newlyweds an electric 1954 Jaguar costing £350,000 after he arrived at the ceremony with Victoria in the car.
