David Beckham 'regrets' giving son Brooklyn hugely expensive wedding gift

David Beckham has joked that he regrets giving his son Brooklyn, 23, and daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz, 27, a hugely expensive wedding gift. When billionaire heiress Nicola married David's eldest boy Brooklyn in April, David splashed out on a gift that the two could enjoy.

The wedding was at Nicola's family's £76 million estate on Palm Beach in Florida and guests at the £3m bash were asked to donate to a Ukraine charity to help those affected by war. But instead David presented the pair with a 1954 Jaguar that had been converted to be electric and costs £400,000. David, who turned 47 on Monday, drove the baby blue XK140, which had been converted to electric by 120 people in restoration and electrification company Lunaz, to the ceremony, reports the Daily Record.

Founder & CEO of Lunaz David Lorenz, said: "In creating this beautiful, electrified Jaguar XK140, we are honoured to bridge the gap between David Beckham’s professional life, where he is an investor in Lunaz and his family life. This remarkable car is the perfect gift to his son Brooklyn and daughter-in-law, Nicola on their wedding day. In every respect, this extraordinary electric classic car by Lunaz symbolises a bright, positive future." Read all our entertainment news here.

David and Spice Girl wife Victoria handed the newlyweds the keys and they took it for a spin, but now the football star has admitted he regrets giving it away. In a recent message to Victoria for her 48th birthday on his Instagram story, David shared a photo of him in the Jaguar sitting alongside Victoria.

He wrote: "Should have kept this car, it's soooo good. @lunazdesign, please make me one. Happy birthday mama, @victoriabeckham." David's mum Sandra also got Adam Claridge to create personalised Nike Air Force 1 trainers for Nicola. The shoes had personal drawings on them and the word 'Bunny' cold be seen on them, which is her grandmother's nickname. There were also butterflies, roses a cherub tattoo just like Brooklyn's.

Nicola wrote of her wedding list: "My dad spoke about this in his wedding at our wedding. Me and Brooklyn are devastated about what is going on in Ukraine and have asked for donations to CareOrg in lieu of wedding gifts. Anything helps."
