The West London mansion of David and Victoria Beckham was reportedly broken into while they were at home, with "thousands of pounds" worth of items stolen.

The burglary of the couple's £40m Kensington home is understood to have occurred late in the evening on Feb 28 while the Beckhams were in the property with their 10-year-old daughter Harper.

Items reportedly taken by the intruders included thousands of pounds of designer and electric goods, The Sun newspaper reports.

Cruz Beckham, 17, is said to have returned home from a night out and found a broken window and a spare bedroom which had been "ransacked". He then alerted his parents.

A Met spokesman said: “Police were called at 00.37 hours on Tuesday, March 1 to reports of a burglary at a residential address in the W11 area of Kensington.

“The burglary is believed to have taken place between 20.30 and 23.30 on Monday, February 28.

“A number of items were reported stolen. No arrests have been made. Inquiries continue.

Former footballer David, 46, and fashion designer Victoria, 47, bought the seven-bedroom home for £31m in 2013.

Their neighbours include Elton John and Robbie Williams.
