David Beckham joins PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi at Liverpool vs Monterrey

David Beckham was just one of the big names seen at Liverpool's Club World Cup clash with Monterrey- and he was joined by Paris Saint-Germain owner Nasser-Al Khelaifi.

Beckham is the president of new American franchise Inter Miami CF and is also the co-owner of Salford City, so he may have been trading tips with Al Khelaifi, who took charge of PSG in 2011.

Elsewhere FA chairman Greg Clarke was seen with Liverpool CEO Peter Moore, and FIFA president Gianni Infantino was also in attendance.

England manager Gareth Southgate was also there, presumably to cast his eye over the likes of Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while former referee Pierluigi Collina and Arsenal managerial legend Arsene Wenger spoke together ahead of the game.

Liverpool made a lightning start to the game, with Naby Keita giving his side the lead after 11 minutes, but Monterrey equalised just three minutes later through Rogelino Funes Mori to make it 1-1 at half-time.

There has been some controversy over hosting the tournament in Qatar over the country's human rights record, but speaking ahead of the game Reds boss Jurgen Klopp insisted he was the 'wrong person' to ask about it.

"Organisers have to think about these things, not the athletes," Klopp said.

"When sportsmen have to decide to be part of a competition, it's not right."

"I have an opinion on football but this is a real serious thing to talk about I think and the answers should come from people who know more about it," Klopp said before Wednesday's semi-final against Mexican club Monterrey.

"I have to be influential in football but not in politics. Anything I say wouldn't help, it would just create another headline, positive or negative."

The winners of the game will play Flamengo in the final on Sunday after the Brazilian side overcame Al-Hilal 3-1 in their semi-final.
