David Beckham commits a crime against sausage and mash with added ingredient

David Beckham deserves a red card – over his culinary skills.

The former footballer, 44, is staying with his family at their luxury Cotswolds home and has been spending time in the kitchen.....but with decidedly mixed results .

Sharing snaps of his food for his 62 million followers, he showed off a plate full of bangers and mash, covered in gravy.

But he raised eyebrows after dolloping a portion of coleslaw on the side.

He told fans: ‘Simple pleasures, bangers and mash. Oh and the coleslaw.’

David also revealed he was having Viennetta, telling fans he was only allowed the ice cream treat 'on special occasions when I was a little boy.'

David also shared videos of him cooking with Harper, making the family beef rigatoni and banana bread for their dinner.

Others stars getting active in the kitchen – and sharing their spoils on social media – included Michelle Colllins, who rustled up a cottage pie, Paddy McGuiness and Gwyneth Paltrow who made a vegetarian paella.

Last Sunday, Gwyneth took to her Instagram following a farmers market outing with husband Brad Falchuk, 49, to discuss the importance of social-distancing.

She said: "lthough we are all on a learning curve and aren’t always perfect as we figure out this temporary new normal, we must take the orders seriously and not abuse the freedoms we still have; grocery store and essential errand runs, bike rides or walks (being disciplined about correct protocol).'

She stressed that 'it’s not the time for denial' and that as a society 'we must take this seriously and shelter in place.'
