David Beckham and Tom Cruise fist bump after England's emphatic early goal against Italy

David Beckham and Tom Cruise were seen fist bumping in an emphatic response to England's first goal against Italy in the Euro 2020 final.

The famous pair who were sitting next to each other at Wembley alongside supermodel Kate Mo ss hailed England player Luke Shaw for scoring the quickest ever Euro final goal.

Mission Impossible star Tom is no stranger to England football having wished the team good luck in a FaceTime call on the eve of the country's most important football match in 55 years.

England captain Harry Kane revealed the acting stalwart had also given the lions an exclusive pre-screening of his new film.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5live: "He just dialled in and FaceTimed us just to wish us the best of a group so that was nice of him.

“The majority of people in the world love football, so it's great to have all that support not just in England but across the world."

Gareth Southgate's squad were given a FaceTime briefing by the Hollywood idol at their St George's Park base on Friday night.

All the players were asked to sign non-disclosure agreements banning them from talking about the film 'Top Gun: Maverick' – or what football-mad Cruise said to them.

But they were thrilled by the chance to talk to the Mission: Impossible star, who is a big pal of former England captain David Beckham.

David Beckham, Boris Johnson and Tom Cruise are just some of the star names on the official Euro 2020 final guest list.

The Prime Minister and the legendary former England captain were both pictured at Wednesday's semi-final as the Three Lions beat Denmark at Wembley, while film star Cruise was spotted at Wimbledon on Saturday.

A total of 60,000 spectators will watch England face Italy in what could well be a historic night for the nation, having not won a major men's international tournament since 1966.

As well as footballing royalty, British royalty will be represented by Duke of Cambridge Prince William, his wife and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and their son, Prince George.

Along with Johnson, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan is one of many political names set to be in attendance.

Beckham and record England goalscorer Wayne Rooney are invitees from the world of football, as is Sir Geoff Hurst.

The England squad have been treated to celebrity support their campaign began having been serenaded with a chorus of ‘Football’s Coming Home’ by Ed Sheeran just moments before learning they would face Germany in the last 16 at Euro 2020.

The ‘Shape of You’ singer was brought into the group by captain Harry Kane – and performed a familiar song for the England camp.
