David Baddiel based dull seaside town in new book on Welsh city where he holidayed as a kid

Comedian David Baddiel has admitted that as a child he found a Welsh city where he holidayed as a child "boring" and has based a dull seaside town in his new children's book on the destination. While appearing on Loose Women David revealed that he was not a fan of Swansea when he was a child.

Telling the Loose Women panel, Charlene White, Janet Street-Porter, Denise Welsh and Kelly Holmes, he said as a child he found Swansea boring, after going on holiday there every year to visit his grandparents. He said: "When I was a kid we always went on holiday to Swansea...I'm going to say an apology now which was in 1974 Swansea was boring. I'm sorry! It was boring and we went there every year for our summer holidays and my parents didn't even go to the nice places."

David went on to explain how a town, called Snoring-on-sea, which is very dull and boring was also based on Swansea. He said: "Snoring-on-sea, which I am sorry is what I call it, and every year the same thing."
