The 27-year-old has just 18 months of his contract at the Allianz Arena remaining and Bayern could be tempted to cash in on him now, rather than sell him on a cheaper deal in the summer.

The defender has admitted that he could see himself playing in a different league.
The 27-year-old has been in the German Bundesliga since he joined Bayern Munich in 2009 and he could be ready to test himself somewhere else.
Speaking in an interview with Sport1 in December he said: "I can imagine both: to either stay here or take a different path. At the moment, however, we have goals here at Bayern Munich that I want to achieve."
