Dave Vos to join Rangers as Giovanni van Bronckhorst appoints new assistant

Rangers are set to appoint Ajax coach Dave Vos as one of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s new assistants.

The Ajax U18 boss has been at the Dutch giants for a decade and the move is viewed as something of a coup for the Ibrox side.

Van Bronckhorst is set to take charge of his first game with Rangers on Thursday night and Vos will join an already strong backroom staff.

They’ve already added Roy Makaay, Arno Phillips and Yori Bosschaart to the staff.

It was a much needed move after Gary McAllister, Michael Beale, Tom Culshaw and Jordan Milsom all moved south with Steven Gerrard to join Aston Villa.

Vos has been manager of Ajax U18s but was previously assistant at the club’s B team, as well as working for AZ Alkmaar and the KNVB.

Vos has been described as a 'young, ambitious coach' and has helped bring through the likes of Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt during his time at the Dutch giants.
