Dave Vos joins Rangers as Gio van Bronckhorst adds coveted Ajax coach to Ibrox backroom team

Highly-regarded Ajax youth coach Dave Vos has joined Rangers' coaching team - according to a press release from the Dutch side.

Reports emerged on Thursday that the 38-year-old was Ibrox bound as he gets set to link-up with Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Ibrox.

The Rangers manager has been putting together his coaching team after former boss Steven Gerrard 's exit included a host of key lieutenants.

And now Vos - who has been working at Johan Cruyff Arena for a decade - will bolster a coaching group that includes former Bayern Munich star Roy Makaay.

Van Bronckhorst watched his side win his opening match in charge against Sparta Prague and will aim to follow that up against Livingston on Sunday.

And Vos will likely have a key role at Ibrox after forging his reputation at one of the world's best academies in recent times.

Sporting director Ross Wilson confirmed on Monday that a Scottish coach could follow but admitted a foreign arrival would likely be first.
