London rapper Dave held nothing back at Tuesday night's Brit Awards as he took aim at Prime Minister Boris Johnson in a passionate and provocative performer.
Dave, who was nominated for four awards at the O2 Arena ceremony, was one of a long line of performers to hit the stage as the annual event turned 40, with Lizzo, Billie Eilish and Harry Styles among the others who took to the stage.
But it was Dave's performance that prompted the biggest reaction as he used his time in the spotlight to slam Boris Johnson and how the press treated Meghan Markle before and after her and Prince Harry's decision to step back from their Royal duties.
He rapped: "It is racist even if it doesn’t feel racist, the truth is our Prime Minister is racist.’
‘And if somebody hasn’t said it. Equality is a right, it doesn’t deserve credit. ‘If you don’t wanna get it, then you’re never gonna get it.
"How the news treats Kate versus how they’re treating Megan."
Many people watching at home admired Dave's passion after he also shouted out to the victims of Grenfell and London Bridge terror hero Jack Merritt. One tweeted: "This is a magnificent Performance by Dave #Brits2020," and another exclaimed: ‘Dave deserves a brits award tonight after this performance!"
Well the 21-year-old did get his award as he took home the night's big honour - Album of the Year - for Psychodrama, which also won the Mercury Music Prize last year.
Former Prime Minister Theresa May was also slammed by Tyler the Creator as he picked up the award for International Male.
