Dave King on Neil Lennon's Celtic future as ex-Rangers chief reiterates 'fold like a pack of cards' title stance

Dave King is curious whether a managerial change at Celtic would have a positive or negative impact on the club.

Neil Lennon's position at the Hoops has come under threat after their exits from the Betfred Cup and Europa League.

The Parkhead board has backed the Northern Irishman, but there is no doubt Celtic need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

And former Rangers chief King believes there is a lot of uncertainty from a Celtic perspective, including the managerial position, but admits Lennon's men are a better side than they are currently showing.

Speaking to STV, he said: "I’m certainly hopeful.

"I think Celtic are better than they are playing, I think their squad is better.

"It will be interesting to see whether they have any managerial changes and whether a new person, if they did come in, gives them a boost or doesn’t give them a boost.

"I think there’s a lot of uncertainty, let’s say, on the Celtic side, as to how they’re going to be for the rest of the season.

"But if I look at it purely from a Rangers perspective, they’ve looked dominant."

King reiterated that he still believes Celtic will "fold like a pack of cards" if Rangers are able to win one Premiership title.

He added: "I stand by it. Celtic have had a run, they’ve won titles.

"We weren’t there, I think five of the years, we weren’t there.

"When we came back we clearly didn’t have the resources to compete.

"We’ve slowly built that up and narrowed the gap, certainly on playing terms. We’re top of the league on merit and if we can win the league this year, I don’t think that will be a one-off."
