Dave Hyde: A reminder for Miami fans on how to act on the big, bad stag

The University of Miami plays its biggest, baddest football game in more than a decade and the question for Hurricanes fans is simple: Do you remember how to act?

That's not a rhetorical question. It's one thing for Miami coach Mark Richt to say, "A lot of programs have great fans bases and we won't take a back seat to anybody on that."

It's another thing to have someone sitting in that back seat _ to actually, you know, sell out a game, like Miami will against Notre Dame on Saturday. That tells how far fans have come from way back when they weren't sure if a 'Canes game merited a sell-out.

You know, like last Saturday.

This isn't just a game that has College Football Playoff implications. It's Miami vs. Notre Dame. It's history. It's tradition. And, for a fan base that has acted like it woke up on the wrong side of the bed for a decade, it's a coming-out party.
