Dave Allen provides update from hospital after collapsing following David Price defeat

Dave Allen has reassured his fans he is out of danger after he collapsed following his defeat by David Price.

Allen was pulled out of the fight after the 10th round by trainer Darren Barker after complaining of being concussed.

He has been dominated by Price throughout and was set for a heavy points defeat.

Allen was given oxygen after the fight but collapsed as he attempted to rise from his stool.

He was put in a wheelchair and taken to hospital for a scan.

But Barker later posted a picture of Allen with his thumbs up along with the following update: "Dave wants you to know he’s ok; he’s just waiting on a scan and a few stitches.

"He also wants to congratulate David Price on a fantastic win and hopes everyone gets home safely."

Price, 36, fully deserved this success after losing three of his previous six fights and he jabbed well and used his right upper cut to great effect.

Price will hope his win will land him one more shot at the big time after six years of trying since his hugely-damaging back-to-back defeats to Tony Thompson in 2013.

For Allen it is back to the drawing board after he momentum he had generated by winning his last four fights, including against former WBA king Lucas Browne.
