Daughter's message after dad found with cuts to his face in street

A daughter has said how grateful she is to the "angel" who rushed to helped her 82-year-old dad after he fell outside a shop.

Cathy Williams told the ECHO is so grateful a lady had rushed to her father's aid and walked him home in Seacombe, Wirral, after falling "flat on his face".

She said: "My dad, Ronnie, has Alzheimer's you see, and while he is still quite strong physically, his memory isn't too good.

"I only live five minutes away from him, so he has his little routine where he will walk to my house, then back via the shop.

"He always goes the shop to pick up his ECHO and go back home.

"But on his way home today, he fell on Borough Road and a lovely lady stopped, helped him up and walked him home.

"I am just so grateful she was there, she really is an angel and I want to find her to say thank you.

"I know she had a little girl with her, but she made sure he got home safely."

Cathy, 60, said luckily Ronnie escaped with just cuts and bruises and was checked over my staff at Mill Lane walk-in.

She said: "I got a call saying he had had a fall and I immediately took him to Mill Lane.

"Because of how he fell, his glasses cut into his skin on the bridge of his nose.

"Even though he is only five minutes away, I always worry about him, but I never want to take away his independence while he has it.

"I always ask people locally to look out for him and I am just thankful there are lovely people here like the lady who helped."
