The daughter of a Dublin woman who bravely fought breast cancer is to take part in the VHI Women's Mini Marathon for Breast Cancer Ireland.

Saidhbhe Casey is already close to her €500 fundraising goal for the charity.

Her mum Imelda battled the disease over the past year and thanks to the treatment she received is now in remission.

So far, Saidhbhe has had great support and is looking for one last push before the marathon on Sunday, June 2.

She said: "For the year that's in it I have decided to raise money for Breast Cancer Ireland. My Mom is my rock and to see everything she had to go through this past year was tough.

"Thank God she's now in the clear thanks to all the treatment she received, and the fact that they caught it early.

"I'm grateful for the work of Breast Cancer Ireland and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my participation in VHI Women's Mini Marathon 2019.

"Please help me help them by giving whatever you can, every little counts. The more people that know about Breast Cancer Ireland, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.

"Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot to us."
