The daughter of a pensioner who died after being mugged for her “worthless” handbag issued a fresh plea for justice today — 10 years on from her mother’s killing.

Molly Morgan, 81, suffered fatal head injuries after being dragged to the ground. Her brown leather-effect handbag contained an umbrella, a plastic bag and an electrical extension lead.

Her daughter Hilary Underwood said: “I’m her only child and we were very close. It was 10 years ago but it hurts still every day. You might feel reluctant [to come forward], but please do it because this is something that could bring me peace and closure and justice at last.”

Mrs Morgan was targeted at about 7.40pm on January 15, 2009, as she walked to Kenton Library in Harrow to attend a lecture. She was attacked from behind in Streatfield Road.

Officers are hunting a man who was seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and two young men who ran towards Kenton Library after the attack.

There is a £20,000 reward for information that leads to a conviction.

Contact the incident room on 020 8358 0300 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
