Daughter of Patricia O'Connor denied leaving house to get “permanent peace” from mother

A woman accused of impeding the investigation into her mother’s alleged murder denied she had left their house on the night of the killing to get “permanent peace”.

The jury at Dublin Central Court was yesterday listening to the two final gardai interviews given by Louise O’Connor.

She denies agreeing to or acquiescing in her daughter Stephanie O’Connor disguising herself as Patricia O’Connor on May 29, 2017 in order to conceal the fact she was dead.

Asked why her ex was seen on CCTV footage closing the curtains when she and her children left the house to go to the park, the mother-of-five replied: “If you are saying we left so he could do something, you’re sadly mistaken.”

Louise O’Connor, 41, Stephanie O’Connor, 22, both of Millmount Court, Dundrum Road, Dublin, and Keith Johnston, 43, of Avonbeg Gardens, Tallaght, are all charged with impeding the apprehension or prosecution of Kieran Greene, knowing or believing him to have committed an arrestable offence.

Greene, 34, denies murdering Mrs O’Connor at her Dublin home on May 29, 2017.

The trial continues.
