Daughter of gangster Cornelius Price planning 'greatest send off you'll ever see' when body returns to Ireland for funeral

The daughter of ruthless gang boss Cornelius Price has vowed to give him “the greatest and biggest send off you’ll ever see” when his body is brought back to Ireland.

The 41-year-old psycho – chief suspect in at least three murders – will be given a hero’s welcome when his body is repatriated from the UK.

It is expected that Price will be given a similar bling funeral to gang boss ‘Fat’ Andy Connors who was buried in a €28,000 gold-plated coffin.

The mobster had a 6ft €50,000 marble statue of Jesus on his grave and was also buried wearing a €45,000 Rolex watch and other jewellery.

Murdered Kinahan gangster David Byrne was also given an ostentatious send off with a platinum coffin, a dozen limousines and outriders on Harley Davidson motorbikes.

Drogheda feud mobster Price, who fled his fortified compound in Meath, was facing trial in the UK for his part in a kidnap and blackmail plot.

Price, also known as Nellie and Nailyboy, became ill in October 2021 with a brain disease and had been comatose ever since until his death last weekend.

He fled to the UK in 2020 after the gruesome murder and dismemberment of Keane Mulready-Woods, 17, by slain serial killer Robbie Lawlor as there were threats on his own life.

While his funeral arrangements have yet to be made public, those close to him have said he will be brought back to Ireland to be buried in Balbriggan, North Dublin.

A large-scale Garda operation will be put in place at the funeral amid concerns that some of the gangsters’ enemies may attempt to target it.

His daughter Alisha wrote on Facebook: “For everyone that’s enquiring about my father Nailyboy Price’s funeral, yes it is taking place in Ireland.

“No matter what anyone else thinks, God knows his heart and that is all that matters.

“Be back in Ireland soon on his own turf for the greatest and biggest send off you’ll ever see. What he deserves.” Gardai believe Price was behind the murders of Willie Maughan, 34, and his pregnant partner Ana Varslavane, 21, on April 14, 2015.

In April 2020, Price hit the headlines when a video showing him celebrating the murder of Lawlor in Belfast circulated on social media.

Associates and supporters of Lawlor have been vocal on social media this week about Price’s death, even taunting the gangster’s daughter.

One wrote on TikTok: “He hasn’t got a bed in hell, never mind heaven.”

One of Price’s relatives wrote: “RIP to the strongest hearted man I’ve ever seen.

“You come into this world as a legend and you went out of this world as a legend.

“I will love you until we meet again. Please God give you the best bed in heaven. I’ll see you again my brother.

“You will never be forgotten. Your name will live on forever.”
