Daughter jailed for contacting her own mum after breaching restraining order

A woman was jailed for repeated breaches of a restraining order taken out by her own mum.

Natasha Creighton, of Belmont Drive, Tuebrook was first issued with the order in December 2014, following an incident in which a police officer was assaulted.

Liverpool Crown Court heard there had been numerous breaches of it since.

The court heard the breaches had caused Creighton's mum, Susan Schofield, a "high level of distress" and had led to her moving addresses a number of times to avoid the defendant.

The latest breach occurred in the Seaforth area on June 24 this year.

It was described as an incident of "disorderly behaviour" and caused Ms Schofield to suffer an epileptic fit.

It meant a suspended sentence already imposed on 37-year-old Creighton for assault was activated, and she appeared for today's hearing via video link from HMP Styal in Cheshire.

Helen Longworth, defending, said Creighton - who appeared visibly upset throughout the proceedings - suffered from mental health problems.

She said: "She finds it emotionally difficult to comply with the order."

Creighton, who pleaded guilty to the latest offence, was jailed for six months by Judge Robert Trevor-Jones.

The restraining order was also extended for another two years.
