Sometimes when you need support someone steps in and makes all the difference.
That was the case for Wishaw woman Carla Stewart after she received a horrendous diagnosis.
Mum-of-two Carla was left reeling when after years of health issues she was told she had a brain tumour in February.
With two young children to look after and her partner Robert Watson stunned by the news, Carla’s mum Angela Stewart, pictured, stepped up to the plate.
She said: “I have struggled with my health in the last five years.
“Mum’s always been great and helped us out a lot but when I was diagnosed with a brain tumour she started helping with everything.
“She was doing everything - the school run, the washing, dinners. She took on everything and was an absolute godsend.
“Robert has been amazing too and has helped massively but I don’t know how we both would have coped without her.”
To say thank you on behalf of herself, Robert and her two children Macie (9) and Lyall (7), Carla nominated her mum for our Say it with Flowers competition.
We delivered home support worker Angela the flowers - provided courtesy of Newmains florist Pixie’s Petals - this week to her home in Waterloo.
Carla said: “My biggest worry about my diagnosis was actually telling my mum about it.
“She’s quite an emotional person but she knew she had to stay strong for us and I’m just the luckiest daughter to have her.
“We really appreciate everything she’s done for us and I hope the flowers can go a little way to saying that.
“My tumour is still being monitored but hopefully I won’t need surgery.
“She is still helping us out massively and I can’t think of a more deserving winner.”
