Daughter, 9, found 'beautiful' mum unresponsive in bed

A family has paid tribute to a "much loved" mum and daughter who was found unresponsive in bed by her nine-year-old daughter.

Terrilea Moores, 31, was discovered unconscious at her home in Stanza Court, Everton on the June 14, of this year.

Her friend, who was also at the address at the time, rang emergency services and performed CPR until paramedics arrived in scene.

The civil servant was rushed to the Royal University Hospital, where staff tried to resuscitate the mum, however she sadly died.

At an inquest into her death held at Gerard Majella courthouse, coroner Jules Goulding recorded her death as "cocaine toxicity."

Her father, Stephen Moores told the court: "I want to stress that she was a beautiful person, educated and a good mother.

"It wasn't all about drugs and cocaine, she was a lovely woman."

Evidence read out by coroner's officer, Nicola Griffiths said Terrilea had taken cocaine and cannabis in the evening of June 13 until the early hours of the morning of June 14.

The young woman was admitted to hospital at 9.26am on June 14, but staff were unable to revive Terrilea as her brain and heart were starved of oxygen.

The court heard that the 31-year-old also had underlying health conditions including hypoglycemia and a thyroid problem.

No suspicious circumstances surrounded her death, Merseyside Police had concluded, and it was discovered the civil servant had high levels of cocaine in her system.

Ms Goulding concluded the young mum had underlying medical conditions, however on this occasion had used illicit drugs in the evening before and morning of her death.

Terrilea's death was recorded as "cocaine toxicity" and Ms Goulding said: "despite all best efforts from her friend and staff at the hospital they were unable to resuscitate her."

The coroner passed on her sincere condolences to the family and said Terrilea was a "much loved" daughter, sister, family member, friend and a good mother to her young daughter.
