A charity group that supports those with learning disabilities held a successful fundraising event.
Date-N-Mates held a pub quiz night in the hopes to raise money for the group which is a friendship and dating agency that is run for and by adults with learning disabilities.
The event raised over £1,300 and there were some great raffle prizes which also included several meal vouchers which were kindly donated by ITISON.

Mairi McNiven, community and events coordinator at Dates-N-Mates, said: “The Quiz Fundraiser was better than we could have ever expected, there was a great turn out and an even greater atmosphere.
“The quiz kept everyone on their toes but everyone who took part did really well, with the winning team only dropping 4.5 points out of 60. We raised £1310 after Edrington's price match which is amazing which will go towards keeping Dates-n-Mates running.”
The club often holds various events to get those with learning disabilities more involved and offer them the chance to meet and connect with new people.

They also offer friendship matching where they pair up two members who they find to be most compatible and arrange meet-ups to allow them to get to know each other.
They have branches across Scotland and hold an average of ten social events a month which, along with pub nights, includes bowling and tribute nights.
As well as social events, the charity also offers their members training and workshops for a variety of subjects such as relationship and conversation skills as well as being able to set up boundaries.
The charity group is currently looking for new members to join in and have a great time.
