Dates all pubs, nightclubs and everything else can open in Ireland with one lockdown phase left

Ireland today entered phase three of the reopening roadmap with just one more phase to go.

Restaurants, barbers, hairdressers and some pubs were amongst the businesses throwing open their doors for the first time since March today.

People can travel the country, have indoor gatherings of up to 50 and outdoor gatherings of up to 200 as we near the "new normal" with cases continuing to drop.

July 20 marks the next phase of the reopening roadmap and will see another rake of businesses open as well as society return closer to pre-Covid.

Here's all the things still to open in Ireland and when you can expect to see them;

Nightclubs

There is no set date for nightclubs currently and it is thought it could be some time until they get to open their doors.

Give Us The Night, a group that represents some Irish nightclubs, said many won't be able to open until next year.

They said: "It's not going to be able to work unfortunately in nightclubs."

"You know it's all well and good talking about it in theory, but once you actually get into the bones of it... It's just never going to work.

"Some of the bigger clubs may be able to open sooner than some of the smaller ones."

Schools

All schools will likely be back by the start of the the traditional school year in September according to the former Minister for Education Joe McHugh.

Further details will have to be ironed out in the coming weeks.

Mass gatherings and stadium events

Mass gatherings are still some time away with further guidance expected in the next weeks and months.

Festivals, big sporting occasions and concerts will likely not be a feature of Irish life until well into the autumn at the very earliest.

On July 20 in phase four the gatherings limit will be extended to up to 100 people indoors and 500 outdoors.
