The UK is set to be hit by freezing temperatures and snow in early November after a week of stormy winds and heavy rainfall.

UK weather is set to become worse over the next two days as weather warnings are in place across the country, mainly in the North and North West, as there is expected to be persistent and heavy downpours.

The Met Office advised: "Towards the end of October, Atlantic systems will move in from the west, bringing unsettled and windy conditions.

"The weather will remain unsettled across the UK for the rest of October, with heavy rainfall likely to continue in the west. In the second half of the period, it will be wettest in the west and northwest."
