Date for new Primark store opening at Trafford Centre has been confirmed

Primark has confirmed the opening date for its new shop at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.

The budget-friendly retailer is incredibly popular and its Liverpool store on Church Street is often packed with fashion fans.

According to adverts recruiting for staff, the new outlet will open at Barton Square in March 2020, meaning shoppers will have access to another store to get their fashion fix from.

The new shop will be spread over two floors that will span 65,000 square feet in total, according to the job ads, reports Manchester Evening News .

The opening is part of the £74m redevelopment of Barton Square which will see the courtyard covered with a giant glass dome, in addition to the creation of an extra 110,000 square feet of retail space in keeping with the rest of the shopping centre.

Primark is currently only available at the Trafford Centre as a small concession at Selfridges and its new store will occupy the former BHS unit.

Construction of the new glass roof was completed over the summer while the rest of the build is still being finished.

To remain loyal to the decor and theme of the rest of the shopping centre, palm trees and a large fountain will be added while marble and granite flooring and statues are being installed.

The development is due for completion next year.
