Chelsea’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Luton Town has been selected for live television coverage and will be played on Sunday, January 24.
The match at Stamford Bridge will kick off at midday and head the Sunday fixture list which includes Brentford vs Leicester, Manchester United vs Liverpool and Everton vs Sheffield United.
The Blues’ tie with the Championship side will be broadcast live on BBC One. Their third round victory over Morecambe was shown on the BBC’s digital platforms rather than the main channel.
Goals from Mason Mount, Timo Werner, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz saw Frank Lampard’s strong side breeze through to the fourth round at the expense of League Two Morecambe.
Should Chelsea see off the Hatters in round four then they will visit the winners of the Barnsley versus Norwich tie in round five.
The result of the fixture move means the Blues will have one less day to prepare for the visit of Wolves to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League, which is scheduled for a 6pm kick off on January 27. They then host Burnley just three days later in what looks set to be a busy week.
Winning Clubs in the fourth round will receive £67,500 from The FA prize fund, with losing Clubs receiving £22,500.
