Dashcam video shows kangaroo narrowly escape speeding 4x4 in Australian outback

Dashcam footage has been released showing a kangaroo narrowly escape death as it leapt in front of a speeding 4x4 in the Australian outback.

The video shows the animal narrowly miss the vehicle’s bumper, while its tail whips against the radio antenna - breaking it in the process.

The footage was uploaded by Andrew Hallett from South Australia; and his surprise to the incident is audible, as he nervously laughs and swears after the kangaroo clears the vehicle.

Mr Hallett told the Evening Standard he was driving at 50 mph while watching other kangaroos on the other side of the road.

His friend saw the marauding kangaroo before him, but by the time Mr Hallett saw the animal, it was too late to brake.

The video has nearly received 500,000 views on Facebook in just one day.
