Dashcam footage has been released showing police chasing a carjacker who speeded on the wrong side of a one-way street in Seattle.
The video shows Mr Raymond Azevedo, 35, driving at 70 mph in a Chevrolet Camaro firing back at the chasing police cars.
The pursuit ended when officers collided with the Chevrolet head-on, ramming Azevedo inside the stolen car. Officers then took cover behind their cars and opened fire, killing the 35-year-old inside the Chevrolet.
The incident took place on Sunday afternoon and no bystanders or officers was seriously injured.
According to the Seattle Police Department, Azevedo had stolen three cars at gunpoint on the same day.
Azevedo had previously been jailed four times for offences including unlawful possession of a firearm, assault and attempting to escape a pursuing police vehicle.
