Dashcam footage shows shocking near miss between two motorists on large bend

Shocking dashcam footage has captured the moment an overtaking manoeuvre almost ended up in a head-on collision.

The video shows a blue car believed to be a BMW, overtake another vehicle on a large bend and drive into the path of an oncoming Ford Mondeo.

The BMW  is forced to swerve suddenly back onto the correct side of the road to avoid a serious crash.

The footage was captured in the A361 road on the dashcam of William Smith, Devon Live reports.

Ilfracombe Police has said it is aware of the incident and wrote on Facebook: "Ilfracombe Police are aware that dashcam footage of dangerous driving filmed this morning is circulating on Facebook.

"Please can the person who recorded the footage upload it to our Operation Snap page and we will deal with the driver."

A was captured by a cyclist in Bristol earlier this month.

The video, filmed in Perrinpit Road in Frampton Cotterell, shows a car overtaking the cyclist as it approaches a corner.

However, the driver suddenly has to take drastic action as a second car turns into the road from a nearby junction.

The second vehicle is forced to brake suddenly to avoid a smash while the first car ends up mounting the kerb, inches away from a traffic light.
