Dashcam captures moment lorry on wrong side of road narrowly misses car

The hair-raising moment a HGV travelling on the wrong side of the road narrowly missed a car has been caught on camera.

Dashcam footage shows the car's driver slamming on the brakes to avoid a head-on collision with the oncoming lorry.

The heart-stopping incident took place at around 11.30pm on Wednesday, December 11, Daily Post reports.

Driver Chris Bareham said he only had seconds to realise that the HGV was on the wrong side of the road.

“I was coming up a hill, I could see headlights in the distance but not much else," he said.

“When I came on to the road I saw the HGV on the wrong side of the road travelling at around 30mph.

“I immediately slammed on the brakes, and I was right up against the kerb.

“You can see in the video had I reacted a second later or the driver hadn’t steered away I’d have been hit.”

The incident, which took place in Bangor, was not reported to North Wales Police because the driver’s licence plate was not readable on the dashcam footage, according to Chris.
