Daryll Wright: Coatbridge teenager dies after street fight in Kilwinning

A Coatbridge teenager has died following a street fight in Kilwinning.

Daryll Wright, 19, was critically injured during a disturbance in a lane at the rear of Ladyford Avenue at around 2:30am on Saturday May 22.

Emergency services attended and Daryll was taken to Crosshouse hospital where he died on Monday, 24 May, 2021.

A 17-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with incident and is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 25 May, 2021.

Detective Chief Inspector Mick Carr, of Saltcoats CID, said: “Our thoughts go out to Daryll’s family at this extremely difficult time and we continue to provide them with support.


“There will be an increased police presence in the area and I would ask anyone who has any concerns to speak to officers.”
