Nottingham Forest named five out of favour players in their side to face Lincoln City at Sincil Bank on Monday evening.
Luke Steele, Jason Cummings, Zach Clough, Gboly Ariyibi and Daryl Murphy have all been told they can leave the City Ground this summer by new manager Sabri Lamouchi.
The game was downgraded following the arrival of Lamouchi, having decided nine friendlies would be too much for this squad.
Like the defeat at Mansfield a week ago, Jimmy Gilligan and Chris Cohen took charge of the clash with Lincoln City, who are preparing for life in League One following their promotion last term.
In that 2-1 reverse at Field Mill, Murphy and Cummings both started, with the Scotman scoring the opening goal, while there was no place for Liam Bridcutt.
There were a number of other absentees from the side including Toby Edser and Jayden Richardson, who, along with Arvin Appiah, Brennan Johnson and Tyler Walker featured in a friendly with Fulham at the weekend.
The Imps, managed by Danny Cowley, named three trialists in their starting XI, but former Red Jorge Grant was not in their ranks having made a permanent move to Sincil Bank from the City Ground earlier this summer.
XI: Steele; Spooner, Preston, Fornah, Lawrence-Gabriel, Stewart, Cummings, Murphy, Clough, Ariyibi, En-Neyah.
Subs: Gallacher, Shelvey, Gomis, MIghten, Asare, Swan, Walsh, Sodeinde.
