Daryl Horgan to leave Hibs as Jack Ross confirms exit for Irish winger

Jack Ross has revealed Darryl Horgan will leave Hibs in the coming week.

The Irish winger has been at the club since 2018 but will be allowed to leave.

Hibs signed Jamie Murphy on Saturday and he is on the bench against Aberdeen.

There’s no Horgan in the squad and he will now leave Easter Road.

Horgan is in the last year of his contract at the club and will move back down south in the coming days.

Ross said: "Daryl Horgan is out of the team today.

"It’s likely that he’ll move on from the club in the coming days.

"That’s been one that’s been in the pipeline for a few weeks so we needed to get some cover."

Horgan has made 80 appearances for the Hibees since joining from Preston North End.

He’s grabbed 10 goals over the course of his time at the club, including a double in a 2-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle in April 2019.

The 28-year-old spent most of his career in his homeland before a move to Preston in 2017.

He made his name in the Dundalk side that qualified for the Europa League and has won six caps for Ireland.
