The head of Darwin Council has offered sympathies to the family of a nine-year-old killed in a suburban park "misadventure", but hasn't yet made clear if a safety review of the play equipment will be conducted in the wake of his death.
Tributes have flowed for Seth Tran Anderson, and a crowdfunding page has been set up to help his mother pay for the boy's funeral.
"Imelda is a single mother with four children," the page says.
"She's the hardest working person and she has never given up hope/faith on her children or herself … what has happened is beyond comprehension."
Northern Territory Police continue to investigate the death, which they have described as non-suspicious and possibly the "result of misadventure".
Darwin Council chief executive Scott Waters said the council was assisting police with their investigations.
"The tragic death of a young boy in Wanguri on Wednesday evening is devastating and our hearts go out to his family, friends, school and community at this difficult time," he said.
"We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and those connected with this young boy."

Neighbours who spoke with the ABC said the boy was injured on the flying fox at the Kailis Street council-owned playground.
The playground is near the Wanguri Primary School, where the boy was a student.
Mr Waters said the council was told about the incident on Thursday and remained in close contact with NT Police.
When asked specifically if the council had carried out a review in response to the child's death, Mr Waters said reviews were continuing as normal.
"Council continually reviews our park equipment and we have a large amount of documentation around the reviews that we undertake, and we continue to do so," he said
"Council reviews our parks on a daily basis and we have checklists of which we undertake at all our parks within the city of Darwin municipality, and we continue to do that on a daily basis.
"Currently [it's] under investigation with the Northern Territory Police and we await those outcomes.
"Council continues to look at all pieces of equipment that we have within our park areas, but for us this is very much about acknowledging a tragic situation that has occurred, and our condolences to the family."
The NT Education Department said support continued to be offered at Wanguri Primary School.
