Darvel boss Michael Kennedy has eyes on Junior Cup after continuing incredible league form

Darvel kept up their incredible league form as they further cemented their position at the top of the West Region Championship.

A 3-1 win away to Neilston left them three points clear of Cumbernauld United with a game in hand.

The victory meant their fine form continued, with 14 wins from their last 17 league games and just one of those being a defeat.

And Vale boss Michael Kennedy admits he’s delighted with their run

He said: “It was a fairly comfortable win, we played well.

“We have a lot of our best players back and I think performances like this show how good we can be.

“It’s good to be at the top, but the main thing for Darvel is to be playing in the Premiership next season, that’s our main goal.”

Next up for Darvel is a trip to Petershill in the last 16 of the Junior Cup, a venue where they've already won in the league this season.

Kennedy said: “We are looking forward to the cup game, it will be a great occasion.

“We have won at Petershill already so it gives us confidence.”

Darvel have extended Daryll Meggatt’s contract until the end of the 2020/21 season.
