Darts star James Wade dated former Soccer AM host Helen Chamberlain before going on to marry his walk-on girl wife.
The world number four has made his way to the quarter-finals of the 2022 PDC World Championship, a tournament he is yet to win since breaking through in the 2000s.
At that time, Wade was not only finding his way in the sport, but also in his love life.
After quitting his job at a garage and winning his first major title in '07, he became romantically engaged with darts-lover Chamberlain.
She had been a pub-league player of the sport so they shared a mutual passion.
After rumours began circulating he was with the then 41-year-old presenter, Wade, who was 25, said in 2008: "Some of the things I've read are not quite true, but we all have good friends, whether they are male or female.
"Helen loves darts - perhaps that's why we get on so well - but people are putting two and two together and making seven.
"If they made five, they may be closer to the truth, or they may be a million miles away... who knows?"
