Ignore the score of the incredibly low final score of the Dartmouth-Harvard game, and pay attention to the incredible Hail Mary final play that lifted the Big Green to a 9-6 victory Saturday. It was the game’s only touchdown, but it was a good one.
With six seconds left on the lock and Dartmouth quarterback Derek Kyler survived an enormous amount of pressure from Harvard and escaped multiple sack attempts to find wide receiver Masaki Aerts in the end zone for a 43-yard, game-winning touchdown.
The win kept Dartmouth’s perfect season intact, and the Big Green are now 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Ivy League, while Harvard is now 4-3 and 2-2, respectively.
The camera crew almost missed it, but luckily, we have a couple angles to offer.
Kyler went 11-for-18 for 133 yards and one interception, along with the game-winning score, while that play was Aerts’ only catch of the game.
