Darren Moore leaving managerial options open despite QPR talks

Darren Moore is leaving his options open despite holding talks with QPR.

The Hoops are still hunting for a new manager after Steve McClaren was sacked at the start of April.

Although Moore remains on their shortlist, Mirror Sport understands he is considering options elsewhere.

The 45-year-old ex-West Brom boss remains keen to return to management after winning widespread praise for the job he did laying the foundations for the Baggies’ play-off push.

Moore’s March dismissal was heavily criticized with the club fourth in the Championship at the time.

He had also brought through highly-rated teenagers Rekeem Harper, 18, Sam Field, 20, eighteen-year-old Rayhaan Tulloch and sixteen-year-old Morgan Rogers.

But a draw against Ipswich had left West Brom fourth in the Championship and nine points off the automatic promotion places.

Moore's assistant Graeme Jones was also sacked as it subsequently transpired he had already agreed to become Championship-bound Luton's next manager.

QPR have a number of options for their vacant manager’s job with old boy Gareth Ainsworth, currently boss of League One's Wycombe, alongside Moore as joint favourites.
