Darren Moore gives Bolton Wanderers prediction and compliment after Sheffield Wednesday victory

Darren Moore feels Bolton Wanderers will be 'there or thereabouts' this season in League One after believing Ian Evatt's side is the best side Sheffield Wednesday have seen this season.

The Owls boss spoke after picking up three points against Wanderers at Hillsborough in a slender 1-0 victory.

Lee Gregory's second half strike proved the difference ultimately as Evatt's side failed to make the most of the opportunities they carved out.

Wednesday had to ride out several moments of pressure from the visitors as they picked up the victory which has lifted them to ninth in the League One table, just behind Bolton.

Moore believes Wednesday beat the best team he has seen so far in League One this campaign.

And he feels Wanderers will be 'there or thereabouts' this season in the race for promotion and to finish in a top six place.

He said: "We have beaten a very good team today. They are the best team I've seen so far this season.

"You want to stay in touching distance.

"I want to win every game.

"Bolton will be there or thereabouts this season. They are a good team. I will have a good chat with Evo in there. I am pleased with the boys because we beat a really good team.

"I am pleased with the game plan. The goal came from what we have worked on."

On whether he felt Owls defender Dominic Iorfa was lucky not to be sent off towards the end of the first half after brining down Kieran Lee on the edge of the box while on a yellow card, Moore said: "I never want to say any players be sent off. Ever.

"I think Ian said he was through on goal but I think we had a covering defender. I can understand and sympathise with him but I don't really want to see any players sent off."
