Darren Fletcher clashes with Man United fan as Cristiano Ronaldo absence vs Leicester explained

Here are your Manchester United morning headlines for Sunday, April 3.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Leicester City absence explained

Cristiano Ronaldo missed Manchester United's draw with Leicester City on Saturday evening. After a dismal 45 minutes, the game sprung into life shortly after the hour mark as Kelechi Iheanacho headed the Foxes in front before Fred cancelled out his effort just four minutes later.

The 37-year-old forward played two full games for Portugal during the international break and was at Carrington on Thursday and Friday, but as the Manchester Evening News reported he did not arrive with the rest of the squad at the Lowry on Friday. As a result, Ralf Rangnick was forced to shuffle his pack, surprisingly consigning Marcus Rashford to an appearance off the bench.

James Maddison had a late effort ruled out following the intervention of VAR. But for the Reds, they face a nervy wait for Ronaldo's full diagnosis.

Darren Fletcher snapped at by Manchester United

An international break ends with another dire result against Leicester and another manager certain to vacate his post next month. Not much has changed at Manchester United in six months.

When Kelechi Iheanacho stooped to put Leicester ahead, one supporter in a hoodie in the south stand had had enough. He stood up and vented at the United dugout. Darren Fletcher vented back.

The supporter was escorted out by stewards to applause, though it was unclear if that was for his removal or rant. He missed Fred's swift equaliser, unwittingly assisted by a complacent Kasper Schmeichel.
