Darren Eales fires up Newcastle United supporters with pub address ahead of Carabao Cup Final

Darren Eales has issued a rousing message to Newcastle United supporters at the Green Man Pub in Wembley ahead of the Carabao Cup Final. Eddie Howe's side will lock horns with Erik Ten Hag's Manchester United later today, looking to end their 68-year wait for a trophy.

Eales, the Magpies CEO, has thanked supporters for their support ahead of the game and promised this final would be the first of many under new ownership. It's the first final the Magpies have reached in over two decades and there's plenty of optimism heading into the game.

Ten Hag said Newcastle United were an annoying team to play earlier this week, and Eales has called on supporters to live up to the bill at Wembley Stadium.

Eales told supporters: "The first thing I want to say, has anyone seen a Man U fan in the city? They're rarer than hen's teeth, it's unbelievable.

"You guys have taken over. Just on behalf of the club, I want to say a huge thank you to you guys. You've been through the club through thick and thin and it's been a lot of things recently.

"But, we're back lads! I'm telling you, this is the start. Your support is unbelievable, this is amazing.

"We're raising money for Wor Flags. I want to say thanks to Wor Flags. What I want to do most of all today, let's be bloody annoying.

"Let's annoy them, let's get a cup. Thank you for the support, this is going to be the first of many finals. Just thank you guys, we love you.

"Let's get a song going."
