Darren Day is engaged after popping the question to partner Sophie Ladds.
The actor, 52, shared his happy news on Instagram, posting a black-and-white photo of his and Ladds’ hands, with the latter showing off a stunning diamond ring.
The caption reads: “My girl Sophie & I just got engaged. “She rocks my world.”
Celebrity pals including Day’s Hollyoaks co-star Jamie Lomas soon shared messages for the happy couple.
“Congratulations pal,” Lomas wrote. “I hope you're well x.”
Keeping it simple, Day’s former Celebrity Big Brother housemate Gemma Collins tweeted: “Congratulations.”
Day has often hit headlines thanks to his romantic life and his latest proposal comes just a year after his split from his wife of 12 years, fellow Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Dooley.
In the mid-nineties, he dated fellow actor Anna Friel before they split in 1997. Just two weeks later, he confirmed he was in a new relationship with Coronation Street star Tracy Shaw but they called it quits in 1998.
He then dated - and got engaged to - Isla Fisher, before finding love - and a second engagement - with fellow pantomime star Adele Vellacot.
Their relationship ended just weeks later, when it was revealed Day had been having an affair with his Summer Holiday co-star, Hear’Say singer Suzanne Shaw.
The couple welcomed a son in December 2005 but split on Mother’s Day the following year.
Day has one daughter and one son with Dooley.
