Darren Day is engaged for the sixth time.
The actor, who has had a reputation as a womaniser in the past, has popped the question to girlfriend Sophie Ladds, just one year on from his split from his wife, Emmerdale star Steph Dooley.
The 52-year-old took to Twitter to announce the news by sharing two black and white pictures of his hands intertwined with Sophie's as she sported her brand new piece of jewellery.
He wrote: "Spot the difference! My girl @SophieLadds & I just got engaged. She rocks my world"
One fan begged for more details, commenting: "Congratulations buddy! You cuties! Was it a romantic proposal ?? x"
Darren replied: "Dressed as Richard Gere from an Officer and a Gentleman on the spot where we met x"
Another fan told him: "Congratulations I hope you have a long and healthy life together."
Sophie also shared the pictures on her own account, writing: "Spot the difference. @DarrenDOfficial you have made me the happiest girl in the world. Always...forever...and a Sophie Day"
Former Celebrity Big Brother star Darren was voted Britain's number one Love Rat seven years in a row between 1999 and 2006.
He was previously engaged to actress Anna Friel, but later gave the £30,000 engagement ring to Coronation Street's Tracy Shaw after they split.
But he then dumped Tracy for Isla Fisher.
The former Hollyoaks star then got engaged to dancer Adele Vellacott, but eight moths later, it emerged he'd had a fling with Hear'Say star Suzanne Shaw, who he also asked to be Mrs Day.
They had a son together but they split when their boy was just three months old in 2005.
Darren went on to marry Steph two years later.
They split in August 2019 after 12 years of marriage, and have two children together.
They had renewed their vows just two years earlier.
A spokesman for Steph said at the time of their split that they had actually broken up in 2018.
Darren appeared on Loose Women last week, when he opened up about being diagnosed with a borderline personality disorder during lockdown.
