Darren Bent makes Premier League prediction that Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds United fans will love

Darren Bent believes that Leeds United will quickly be able to find stability in the Premier League and states the top-flight is desperate for them to return.

Elland Road has been without Premier League football for 16 years but, with Leeds 14 points shy of securing promotion, the wait looks set to end.

While it will be a challenge getting back into the rigours of Premier League football, Bent believes the club are in a position to succeed.

"I do believe Leeds United will better the Premier League. The Premier League wants Leeds United back, it's been so long since they were there," he told talkSPORT.

"Until they're mathematically there, I still hope they don't drop points because we've seen it happen before. They're the best team in the Championship in the last couple of seasons but last year, they fell at the wrong time.

"The way Marcelo Bielsa has them training, intensity wise, you've got to say they are the fittest team in the league bar none.

"I think it was really important that Patrick Bamford got a goal quite early after this restart because some of the criticism he has received has been poor.

"I understand he's not scoring as many goals but you look at other strikers around the country, you think they're getting praise for running around, holding the ball up and putting tackles in.

"I think they'll do ok in the Premier League and I think their attract a lot of high-profile players that other clubs can't attract because people will look at Leeds, the size of the club, the history, the supporters, the stadium.

"For me, I don't think they'll have a problem. I'm not saying they'll go and compete with Manchester City or Chelsea, the big guns, but there's no reason they can't establish themselves as a mid-table side and then kick on.

"I think they've got some players in their squad who are ready, like Kalvin Phillips, he should be in the Premier League now already. If he was, he'd be in the England squad, so I think they'll be perfectly fine next season and I can't see them struggling."
