Darren Bent believes Tottenham Hotspur will be signing an “unbelievable player” if they can lure Ryan Sessegnon to the club before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The Fulham youngster has been linked with a move to North London all summer, with the future of Danny Rose in the air.
The 19-year-old sensation has been linked with a top-six club ever since he burst onto the scene aged just 16.
Sessegnon didn’t enjoy the best of times in the Premier League last season as Fulham were relegated back to the Championship but his potential is undeniable.
Talks between Spurs and the Cottagers are ongoing, although a £30m deal is expected to be agreed before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

With Rose looking to engineer a move away from the club, this move could pave the way for his exit.
Given Mauricio Pochettino’s track record of developing young players, former striker Bent is adamant Sessegnon would be a superb addition for Tottenham.
“It’s a very good deal for Tottenham if they can do it, especially with the Danny Rose situation,” Bent told Football Insider.
“Getting him in might just soften the blow if they lose Rose.
“It would be brilliant for Sessegnon if he can get that move and great for Tottenham as well, as he’s an unbelievable talent.
“I thought he did reasonably well for Fulham last season considering they got relegated. I don’t think he’s an out-and-out defender.
“I know he can play left-wing, but I’d like to see him at wing-back, that’s where I think his best position is.”
Given Tottenham’s expansive brand of football, Sessegnon’s attacking instincts could make him a perfect fit at left-back for years to come.
The 19-year-old has already racked up 120 first-team appearances for the Cottagers, scoring 25 times and registering 18 assists.
